Come join our Toy Lending Library and open the door of imagination for your child!

Lambton Rural Child Care offers a Toy Lending Library that is open to the community, including parents, grandparents and caregivers at a cost of $15 / year.   The toys in our Toy Lending Library are developmentally appropriate for children from infancy to age 12.   You may borrow one large item and two small items for a period of up to four weeks.

Why join a Toy Lending Library?

Allows the parent and child to explore a toy before purchasing it.
• Children learn the value of borrowing rather than purchasing.
• Rotate the toys in your home affordably.
• Encourages children to learn to make decisions.
• Assists the children in learn to take care of their toys.
• Allows the children to have a variety of toys as their interests and skill levels change.

Through play, a child may develop the following skills:

Speech and language skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Learn to cooperate with others and the concept of sharing.
• Develop hand-eye coordination.
• Use their imagination.
• Gather new ideas.
• Gain self-esteem.
• Explore how things work.
• Increase their attention span.
• Learn pre-reading and pre-writing skills.
