Lambton Rural Child Care is proud to sponsor the Barb Innes Early Childhood Education Scholarship. Barb Innes was a long serving Board of Director’s member. Lambton Rural Child Care is honoured to sponsor this scholarship, to acknowledge the many voluntary contributions that Barb Innes gave to our Corporation, as well as the childcare industry in Lambton County.
Lambton Rural Child Care is a Not For Profit Organization that supports the Early Childhood Education field and its professionals. Our mission statement is to work towards establishing enhanced child care services within the communities of south western Ontario, as well as to support and strengthen all parents through provision of quality child care programs and parental education resources.
Lambton Rural Child Care is offering two scholarships, which will be awarded to a full time student enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program. One scholarship is dedicated to a student attending Lambton College ECE Program and the other is dedicated to a student attending St. Clair College ECE Program. Each awarded scholarship will be in the amount of $500.00, and will be presented at the annual Scholarship Presentation.
The scholarship criteria are as follows:
Second year Early Childhood Education Program attending either Lambton College, Sarnia or St. Clair College, Chatham
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 within the first year of the ECE Program
Minimum GPA of 3.0 obtained during Field Placement within the first year of study
Completed Application Form
Completed short essay component
Copy of college transcript from first year of ECE Program.
Application will not be accepted past November 12, 2010 and the application form must be completed in full to be eligible. The Scholarship recipients will be notified by December 31, 2010 by a LRCC representative.
